Firestone Water Based Adhesive

Firestone water-based adhesive is designed to be used to adhere EPDM membranes to a timber substrate. This adhesive should only be used on a clean, dry and smooth bonding surface that is free of sharp edges, oil and grease. Application Tips Use a roller to apply the adhesive evenly onto the timber substrate Install the membrane immediately after applying the adhesive The adhesive is available in 2.5 litres, 5 litres and 10 litres.

Description

Firestone water-based adhesive is used to bond the EPDM to a flat timber substrate only. Do not allow adhesive to freeze.

Preparation

Make sure that all bonding surfaces are clean, dry and smooth. Areas must also be free of any sharp edges or loose and foreign materials, including oil, grease and other contaminants.

Application

Stir adhesive prior to application and use a roller to apply evenly onto the timber substrate. Membrane should be installed immediately and positioned whilst the adhesive is still wet. Open the membrane out as soon as possible to allow it to settle. On hot days, apply small sections of water-based glue and immediately cover with the membrane. This will prevent the glue from drying prematurely. Do not use in freezing conditions or if frost is forecast within 24 hours.
